House Music
House Music is an new annual competition. Each house needs to provide the following performances:
An instrumental piece
This can be any combination of instruments or a solo
This should not use a backing track
A choral piece
This should involve as many singers as possible!
This can use a backing track or have a live accompaniment of any instrument
Students can sing in unison or in harmony
A free choice piece
Any combination of instruments or voices in any style
This could use a backing track or use live instruments
JUDGING CRITERIA
All performances will be judged on:
Accuracy - Are the correct notes being played? Is it in tune?
Ensemble - How well students perform together
Deportment - How well students get on and off stage, manage bows and how they present themselves on stage
Extra credit will be considered for large numbers of students, consideration of props and costume and choreography, though anyone dancing would need to also be singing or playing an instrument.
Please note, we would encourage singing performances which use harmonies, however a performance without harmonies which is performed accurately will rate higher than a performance with harmies that are not sung in tune.
